Traceability for ice cream shops

Which lots went into a batch, and where its buckets went. Batch management comes with Production. Advanced traceability is there when your shop needs more.

Batch management

Part of Production, at no extra cost.

A code on every batch

Each batch gets a code as it comes out of the batch freezer. The code goes on every bucket and pint label it fills, and finds the batch's page again.

Lots from your invoices

With Inventory, when an invoice is applied, each ingredient's lot code and best-by date is kept as it arrived, with the supplier and the invoice it came on.

The lot in each batch

Each batch keeps the lot of every ingredient that went into it, from the package open at the time. A new package asks for its lot.

Which batches used a lot

A lot's page lists every batch made with it. Search a lot code or a batch code from Production to find either one.

Advanced traceability

Its own feature, for the locations with Production that want it.

$15 a location a month, billed yearly. $18 billed monthly.

Lots as they're received

Every package's lot entered as it comes in the door, whether on an invoice or not, so each one is known before it's opened.

A label on every package

A barcode or QR label for each ingredient package, scanned into the batch that uses it.

Weights and bucket numbers

What each item in a batch weighed, and the number of every bucket it filled.

Scanned out

Batch codes scanned out to your other locations with a request, and to wholesale customers.

Scan with what you have

The phone's camera, or a Bluetooth scanner beside an iPad on the wall. We'll say which scanners work.

First in, first out

The oldest lot is the one to use next, so stock rotates.

Only the parts you want

Each part has its own switch. No bucket weights, if your shop doesn't weigh them.

Questions

What does a batch code tell me?

Open the batch's page by its code: the flavor, the time and place it was made, the recipe as it was made, and the lot of each ingredient that went in.

If a supplier recalls a lot, can I find what it went into?

Yes. The lot's page lists every batch made with it, and each batch's code is on its labels.

Do I need advanced traceability?

Not to know which lots went into a batch. Advanced is for a shop that scans each package, numbers each bucket, or sends batches to wholesale customers.

Every batch, to the bucket.
